Beating the press

I’ll be on “Beat the Press” (WGBH-TV, Channel 2) today at 7 p.m. We’ll be talking about John McCain versus the New York Times, Sarah Palin and the media, and the debut of the New England First Amendment Center at Northeastern University.

If I were a reporter, there is only one question I’d like to ask Sarah Palin: If a woman becomes pregnant as a result of a rape and if she successfully performs an abortion on herself, how much prison time would you give her?

    Oh Nathan! Ouch!

The anti-abortion crowd talks glibly about criminalizing the procedure. But when asked about penalties, they fall silent.

Poor notices aside, the Couric sitdown may not have killed Sarah but it made the debate a potential debacle in one way or another. Either she’ll be herself and continually mouth blunder after blunder(as with Katie). Or her handlers will attempt to have her stall out the 90 min’s and make no mistakes, by artfully saying nothing. I guess how well she can run a four-corner offense depends on the depth of the questions?

**We’ll be talking about John McCain versus the New York Times, Sarah Palin and the media…**Let me save people some time here. Dan will emphatically deny that there is any MSM bias against these two. By the way, has The Paper Of Record published anything concerning the Palin e-mail hack yet? — blogs don’t count.
