Correction of the week

No, as a matter of fact, the MBTA is not tearing down a just-built bridge on the South Shore, as the Boston Globe reported the other day. The one it’s tearing down is more than 100 years old. (Via Universal Hub.)

  1. Should the correction not be distinguishable from the original error? What I read repeated the original screw up.

  2. Noticed that too, although math and journalists are a span apart. Always remember a Saturday Globe article in the 80s breathlessly reporting that Lotus Development Corp. (remember them) had 3 billion square feet of real estate footage leased in the Boston area. What’s a decimal place shift between friends (or for that matter, is there really a difference between “m” and “b”).
