A cold 5-mile run along the Minuteman this afternoon from Arlington Heights to Lexington Center and back. As always, they did a great job of clearing the path. It was a little slippery, but that couldn’t be helped.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, everyone! Unlike 2020, when we were all stuck at home, last night we had a masked, socially distanced Christmas Eve service. Given the spread of Omicron, though, I’m wondering if that might be it for a while.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Spy Pond at dusk
It was a quite a day Saturday. This one is of Spy Pond in Arlington.
Crimson tide
Saturday along the Upper Mystic Lake in Winchester.
Somewhere over the rainbow
I took at 21-mile ride to Watertown Square and Fresh Pond earlier today — sunny and warm when I started out, but then I got caught in the rain. At least this was worth it. Along the Belmont Community Path.
Apples and bees
You can’t tell from these pictures, but Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury was deluged with hundreds if not thousands of people on Saturday. We ended up high-tailing it out of there after we were swarmed by bees (not the bees below — at least I don’t think so) while we were trying to eat our apple-cider donuts.
Charles River ride
Looking south from the Eliot Bridge. Nineteen-plus miles along the Minuteman, Alewife and Charles River bike paths to Watertown Square and back. It was a beautiful day for a ride.
Denver Day 2
Great day of reporting in Denver followed by food on the mall.
Mile high
I’m in Denver for a week of reporting on The Colorado Sun and the Denver media ecosystem. And the food is outstanding at Henry’s Tavern. That’s a copy of Westword, the city’s still-kicking alt-weekly, on the left.
