A tweak in our comments policy

After some reflection, I’ve decided to restore moderation for Media Nation comments. I hope we can continue to have a freewheeling discussion. But I want to stop abusive, repeat comments before they spin out of control, which has happened on several occasions recently.

My revised comments policy is online here.

Your biggest difficulty will likely will be in abiding by your own guidelines in your posts.

Lkcape thinks Dan is the most common violator of Dan's policy. I cannot recall a single abusive statement by Dan in posts or in comments. Let lkcape cite one, never mind a number totaling more than anyone else. I think lkcape's very first comment since Dan's announcement has no basis in fact, is an ad hominem attack on Dan, and as such is abusive. Abusive comments poison the debate. Let's see is we can have a debate on the merits not a shout down with ad hominem arguments, threats and intimidation like health care town halls. Moreover, why does lkcape return to comment here is he finds Dan abusive?

No, but you seem to like to address things as personal…. Dan didn't.Dan, indeed, may find it difficult to hold himself to the standard he has set. You may wish to re-read your posts in light of what you say regarding others. But I digress. My comment to Dan remains germane.
