Beating the press

I’ll be on “Beat the Press” tonight (WGBH-TV, Channel 2, 7 p.m.) talking about — among other things — President-elect Obama’s first post-election news conference, which will take place today at 2:30 p.m.

This will be my last “BTP” update. Given that I’ve been erratic about posting these, they’re not of much value. I’m on most of the time. And even when I’m not, I don’t want to imply that you shouldn’t watch.

Even though your being on BTP this week is no longer newsworthy, plugging the likely topics is, and BTP is naturally of interest to your readers, as you say, even when you’re not there. I would encourage you to re-post the station teaser text here whether you’re going to be on or not.

I agree with bill n1vux. I think there’s value in posting these. I appreciate them, in any case.

I hope the growing speculation about Metro USA folding, the latest round of layoffs at the Boston Globe, and the impending demise of CN8 will merit a mention on this week’s show.

BTP has lost some of its zest with the exit John.
