The trouble with SiteMeter

Just to be on the safe side, I’ve removed SiteMeter from Media Nation for the time being. Here’s why.

IE is a menace. If you're a script writer, the (*&#$(*@ you have to go through to get it to do the right thing (or prevent it from doing the wrong thing) is really bothersome.(This is the third IE script killer I've heard of this week.)

Dan,It’s not only Sitemeter and IE7 that have given bloggers fits this weekend, but Blogger ran a bot July 31st and declared thousands of blogs as possible spam blogs. Hundreds of bloggers were shut out of their blogs for several days while Google tried to fix the problem. If you had taken a look at the Blogger help board, most of the comments weren’t fit to be printed!(I was one whose medical blog was caught up in the firestorm, but luckily, I hadn’t planned on posting anything new on my blog — and it was cleared late yesterday afternoon.)I have Sitemeter, but use Netscape and Firefox and haven’t had any problems.Irv Arons

I use Statcounter with Firefox and I’ve never had a problem. And fortunately, I haven’t had any Blogger problems either!
