Jason Schwartz, blogging for Boston magazine, reports that Gov. Deval Patrick is relying on casino revenue numbers so wildly optimistic that even noted casino cheerleader Clyde Barrow of UMass Dartmouth doesn’t buy them.

    Only in MA could a gam(bl)ing expert be named “Clyde Barrow”. No idea if his wife is named Bonnie. Also on the rolodex of local reporters is hotel safety expert “Norman Bates”. Honest to God, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

    Dan, You’re making the mistake of presuming logic is being used. It’s like the bank robber who rationalized the stick-up by saying “but I REALLY needed the money!” Until that latest billion of incremental spending goes away, (or another source of union jobs to replace the Big Dig is discovered), we’re toast.
