This is an interesting piece! I just want to echo the need for a reputation measure in addition to popularity. Anecdotally, I’ve never really thought of del.icio.us as a way to share “news” stories. For me, any time I find a news story, quirky incident, or just something I want to remember, I’ll add it to my del.icio.us account. For instance, when I can’t remember where I read about that geostationary banana over texas, I find it easily on my delicious account. That doesn’t mean I think it’s “news.”
