Debating the debates

The New York Times asks six people how to stage a real new-media debate. Zephyr Teachout’s response — many hours of one-on-ones, the footage from which could then be mixed and edited by anyone as he or she sees fit — is the most useful. Tom Brokaw and Matt Bai play it for laughs. Anyway, have a look.

    When was the last real debate? Not Q&A sessions with reporters or the public.I’d like to see an actual debate with just a moderator to keep things moving along. I know with more than two candidates it’s probably impossible but it just seems so rehearsed and plastic with Q&A
