On the plus side

The Weekly Dig’s Web site loads a lot faster than it used to.

You know, guys, there’s this thing called Blogger. It’s free, and you can set it up in about two minutes. You could use it to get some of your content online while you continue with the endless redesign. What do you think?

Adam Gaffin points out that it’s not July anymore. But what I want to know is this: Isn’t it kind of pushing things to run a vodka ad, complete with audio, on an “under construction” page?

Thanks for the prod, Dan. Expect the site up soon, if not today. We’ll be in a bit of a beta mode through August adding final features, and making any necessary changes to the code we may have overlooked, but I think you’ll like what you see. As for blogger, we went with a slightly more sophisticated approach to our site using a great open source content management platform called Drupal. I think you’ll like it.

how dare you snark at the weekly dig, dan? don’t you know they are the dark and brooding sophisticates?

Anon 11:08: How would I know any of that? They don’t have a Web site! Heh, heh. Well, we’ll see what they come up with. Jeff is promising a Drupal-powered platform, which suggests a high degree of audience participation.
