Cruel and usual

The San Francisco Chronicle yesterday carried a horrifying tale about a 4-year-old boy who’s dying from a rare form of dwarfism. He can’t see the one doctor who might be able to save his life because his HMO won’t let him.

    Moraga, where they live, is one of the swankiest suburbs of S.F. If they are having this much trouble, imagine what would happen to a poor, non-white kid in the inner city. I wonder if that same plaintiff’s attorney would have the same sense of righteous indignation….
