Uri Berliner resigns

The New York Times has the story. Berliner posted on social media, “I cannot work in a newsroom where I am disparaged by a new C.E.O. whose divisive views confirm the very problems at NPR I cite in my Free Press essay.” Dishing out, not able to take it, etc.

  1. Wow, what really struck me is how few journalists are still lucky enough to stay in well-paid, prestigious positions like this for a quarter century. When he started there, this was really a thing. Now journalists are lucky if they can land a job for a few years here and there at a barely livable wage.
