  1. Of course … bring Evan home. Also the American media should keep in mind: As of March 28, 2024, the Committee to Protect Journalist’s preliminary investigations showed at least 95 journalists and media workers were among the more than 33,000 killed since the war began on October 7—with more than 32,000 Palestinian deaths in Gaza and the West Bank and 1,200 deaths in Israel.

More than three quarters of the 99 journalists and media workers who perished worldwide in 2023 were killed in the Israel-Gaza war, according to a Feb 15, 2024 report published by CPJ.

This is what we are going to get as long as Putin is running Russia. Mr. Marx is also correct.

Is it awful what is happening to Evan Gershkovich? Absolutely!
But instead of the predictable “Look at how awful Putin is!” cry, how about looking at what is happening in our own country?
    – Where is the outrage over Julian Assange still being charged with felonies for what he did? How is what he did any different than what Daniel Ellsberg did? Ellsberg was lionized upon his death last year as a hero.
    – Why did our government just recently arrest a conservative journalist, Steve Baker, *over three years after* January 6? No, he didn’t assault anyone. The guy was walking through the building. (Btw: How many Congressional hearings does Medea Benjamin/Code Pink have to interrupt before *they* are charged with “insurrection”? Why are conservatives treated differently?)
    – In a story that didn’t receive nearly as much as attention as it should have, a federal judge in CA ruled that our government “selectively prosecuted” Trump supporters at a riotous rally while giving Antifa rioters a pass, even when Antifa arguably committed more violence.

A LOT more to say, but thanks.
