Hiking the Blue Hills

Great hike in the Blue Hills today led by Marc Hurwitz, our intrepid Appalachian Mountain Club guide. I hadn’t been there since I was a Cub Scout leader, and trust me, that was a very long time ago.

  1. A good story is how few minorities there are that hike the Blue Hills. I have some data. It’s a public park and could be enjoyed by all.

    1. Sharon, I normally hike in the Middlesex Fells and on the North Shore, and it is all white. I was struck yesterday by how many Black people I saw hiking in the Blue Hills. I thought it was great. But it’s a matter of choice, isn’t it?
