Conservative blogger D.R. Tucker writes this response at Red Mass Group. I respond to a response by Republican State Committee member Cynthia Stead. There’s a whole lot of responding going on.

A first-rate overview of journalism’s fate

  1. Apparently, this is difficult for anyone who hasn’t been a journalist before to understand. I find the commentary at Red Mass Group to be oddly out of touch with what reporters do.

First of all there is a difference between being a conservative and being a Republican. They aren’t synonyms (just like Democrat and liberal aren’t either).

Professional columnists – not matter how opinionated – are journalists and are supposed to writing about their own view points – not reproducing the talking points of political parties.
