Bruce on the box

I’m hoping Bruce Springsteen’s half-time show pops up on Hulu at some point; meanwhile, I was able to piece it together with a YouTube search. I don’t hold out much hope for his new album, but he and the band were terrific last night. Bruce still has the moves, even if it seemed like he needed to borrow James Harrison’s oxygen mask toward the end.

Rolling Stone gives the new album a rare 5 stars. Then again, he’s on the cover and I’m always skeptical whenever a review and a cover story coincide.I will say that a lot of his recent lyrics have been awful, so my expectations are low on that front.

The show was good quality, for a Super Bowl halftime show. I was just waiting for a wardrobe malfunction, like accidentally ripping off Steve Van Zandt’s bandana.

I was afraid he was only going to do new stuff so I really enjoyed the whole greatest hits aspect. And yeah, an incredible amount of energy.
