Every bit as bad as Bulger

Yes, Whitey Bulger is evil scum. But the star witness against him, John Martorano, served only 12 years for murdering 20 people, one more than Bulger, according to the federal indictment.

Martorano’s victims include, by his own telling, at least two innocent teenagers. Martorano has also profited mightily from his homicidal career, splitting six-figure advances with a film company and with that paragon of virtue Howie Carr.

  1. Do we have a ‘Son of Sam’ law in Massachusetts? If not, why not?

    • Dan Kennedy

@Cynthia: Leaving aside the First Amendment difficulties, (1) this is a federal case, so it wouldn’t matter; (2) Martorano and the feds are clearly in bed with each other, so it wouldn’t be invoked anyway.

      • DK – Son of Sam doesn’t prevent speech. It merely prevents PROFITING from it. Write your book, sell your memories – but the check isn’t payable to you.

It’s always curious that Howie Carr whined about how a bad guy wanted to kill him while at the same time making money writing books with yet another murderer.

I’m thinking ‘Judgement Day’ for the whole despicable, murdering lot. Upon their death may the soul of each one of these hideous murderers burn in hell for all eternity.
