In my latest for the Guardian, I argue that President Obama’s State of the Union address was aimed at the public rather than the pundits — and that early returns suggest that he succeeded by emphasizing what keeps middle-class families awake at night.

Michele Bachmann’s tea-fest actually earned her a slight improvement over her previous performances: her first-ever PolitiFact rulings that weren’t either “False” or “Pants-On-Fire”! She was merely “Barely True” and “Half-True.” (Both were actually relock-and-reload repeats of previously debunked claims, so PolitiFact awarded her their previous rulings on those issues.)
Nonetheless, I believe that you misunderestimate her at your imperil.
