Obama shouldn’t have waited

Barack Obama’s transition is of considerably more importance to the nation than U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

So if it’s true that the Obama team has found nothing improper in Rahm Emanuel’s contacts with Blago, then it should have released the news last week rather than giving in to Fitzgerald’s request for a delay.

Fake Rahm Emanuel has his say.

I come to the opposite conclusion. If the Obama team found nothing improper, and the US Attorney’s office found nothing improper by the Obama campaign, then honoring the US Attorney’s request to delay the release of information until the USA can conclude his interviews – about one week – is the least the president-elect can do to cooperate with an executive branch office, the DOJ. Fotzgerald usually delivers an indictment. In this case, in order to stop Blago from selling he Senate seat, he filed a criminal complain and made and arrest to pre-empt the crime. He does not have all of his evidence nailed down. Obama can help him do that. What’s the more important interest, justice over corruption, or details about his administration non-criminal involvement in the blago affair? If it were my state, I’d want the corrupt bastard nailed down first. Selling a senator’s seat,my god.
